I picked this design up as a digital download in order to learn how to quilt in the hoop. I was impressed with the thought & planning that has gone into the design in order to make it so easy to do. I made a table top sized quilt that receives rave reviews from all who see it. The squares match up very well when piecing together and the embroidery stitching works realy well in the design. The instructions are easy to understand.
I just took the Hoopsisters sample classes at the Sew & Quilt shop in Florida. I did the Double wedding ring and the Cathedral Window. I was loved the technique. I was fortunate to see the trunk show. I fell in love with this pattern and what I saw. I can't wait to start and finish this project. It is beautiful
From the picture I expected this to be a much more complicated design than it is. It has really been enjoyable to do. Trying to decide what the next project should be.
I’ve made a small color-washed version of the Storm By Sea, and found the program very easy to work with. I had to step back and forth to sew the color thread I wanted on the correct patch but it worked great. I love the precision results of the piecing and the decorative stitching is wonderful.
